Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes Sensors |
Carbon nanotubes, consisting of cylindrical graphene sheets with nanometer diameter (5 nm to 800 nm) possess high electrical conductivity, high chemical stability, and extremely high mechanical strength and modulus. Carbon nanotubes possess flexibility in its electrical behaviour, either as metals or semiconductors, depending on the architecture of the atomic structure. BioNano makes well-aligned multi-wall carbon nanotubes as nanosensors/nanobiosensors that can be used for detection of trace biological samples in therapeutic drugs and patient samples in the healthcare and bioprocessing industry; presence of genetically-modified foods in the food processing and manufacturing industry; and monitoring of contaminants in the water treatment and environmental monitoring sectors. |

Carbon Fiber Nanosensors |

In particular, the Company has developed and prototyped several nano-chemical and nano-bio sensors (diameter < 200 nm) made from carbon fibre. These sensors have been proven to provide a high level of sensitivity, with an ultra-low noise (< 200 nm), making them ideal to be used in in-vivo and in-vitro extracellular electrophysiological analysis. These carbon fiber nanosensors have a high level of sensitivity and stability for detection of redox active biomolecules such as catecholamines (epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine), indolamines (serotonin, 5-HT or melatonin) in biological samples.
